Over 2000 athletes from 57 second cycle institutions will compete in this year’s National Invitational Students Athletics Championship (NISAC) scheduled for February 24 to 28 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The competition, which is to test-run the University of Ghana athletics facility’s readiness for the African Games is a talent identification and development project for Senior High Schools organized by the Ghana Athletics Association, in collaboration with Citi TV.

High-performing student athletes who excel apart from medals and prizes available will be drafted into the junior national teams for various development programs and international competitions.

The NISAC offers Ghana Athletics a platform to unearth talents for development and for individual young student athletes to represent their alma mater proudly and showcase the school that played a pivotal role in shaping who they are today.

He extended appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, CITI TV, Ghana Gas, the GA board and other bodies who have supported in making the competition possible.

Mr. Andrew Agbokitcher, Vice President of Ghana Athletics who is a figure in this relationship has said, this is a dream come true and all stakeholders anticipate a great championship at this year’s NISAC event.
